I have been playing the trivia game, and answering questions I know a couple are right but they say the answer is wrong. What format does the answer need to be in for it to be right? For example, I answered the one about how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon, which I kno for a fact and it was wrong. Does anyone ever get these right?
We've argued about this before. I think the consensus is that though there may be mistakes in the trivia game for the most part it's pretty good.
When an answer is supposed to be given in numbers it will tell you so then you type an ardinal number. Otherwise, type the number in words.
I've played a lot of trivia and generally agree that it's required answers are correct--to my chagrin.

Do you need to put the answers in the form of a sentence or something? and use first and last names if it asks for example the name of Sherlock Holmes' older brother?
No, not usually. I think in this case you would type mycroft, not mycroft holmes.
Sometimes it's a close call, and in the case of trivia a near miss is as good as a wrong answer.
In another topic I tried to rally support for a multiple choice trivia game, but I believe the thinking was that it would be too easy to guess the answer.
So, treat each correct answer as a hard won jewel, and each loss as one more of life's little unfairnesses.
Just my thoughts.

Good advice Bob. I think all of us who have been playing this game since it was put on here have found that we are occasionally sure that we have the right answer and yet are told we are wrong. Whoever made up these questions and answers is human afterall, and everyone makes mistakes. I have found out through trial and error that for the most part, a one-word answer is expected, although occasionally they want two or three words. You just really have to find out for yourself through trial and error. One little tip: be careful of spelling. I almost always check out the three wrong answers they give for each question, and often someone had the correct answer but spelled it wrong.
those are the easiest answers lol
When I play Trivia, I cheat. If I don't know an answer, I go to a reference work and look it up. Sometimes I get by with this, and sometimes I don't. Often, when I come back to the game and put in the answer, I get an error message . . . It says something to the effect that my bet is larger than the maximum number of points in my possession. This maximum number is decreased by the amount of the original bet. Is this my penalty for cheating? Is there a "time out" for a question?
There seems to be a bug in Trivia’s handling of bets. Sometimes an error message appears to the effect that:
“The number of points which you have bet exceeds the number of points at your disposal.”
When this message appears, you lose the number of points in your bet.
A way around the bug:
Bottem line, You need to know the number of points at your disposal when you are deciding the amount of your bet. For this figure, do not rely on the numbers which the game supplies. Keep your bet within a range not to exceed one half of the suggested maximum.
